School reunion

A reunion is being organised to allow old classmates to meet up once again, and this will be held on September 11 at Condorrat Social Club.

The event is being organised by former pupil Gary Dempsey to mark the onset of his school year's 40th birthday. In 2002 Gary organised a reunion for all St Maurice's pupils but has decided the time has come to mark this milestone for his generation.

"The reunion is a chance to catch up with some old faces and be entertained with some tunes from the old school discos," said Gary.

"There will also be a few teachers attending who taught at the school in the late 80s."

Gary has been promoting this reunion via social networking websites for a few months and has received an excellent response, with the bulk of the tickets already reserved.

To help make the night memorable Gary has also been polling old classmates on their favourite tunes of the era and their favourite teachers.

People will be travelling from all over the UK and Ireland as well as some from Australia and Canada, so a full house is expected.
