The hunt is on across Scotland’s to find nominees for Britain’s Top Tradesperson 2016, with a top prize of £32,000 and a Toyota vehicle for the winner.
Organised by Screwfix, the competition highlight the great job that plumbers, electricians, carpenters, builders and many more tradesmen and women do across the country.
The best tradespeople will be selected by Screwfix to go head-to-head at a Scottish regional heat and from there, 11 finalists from across the UK will take the road to Wembley for the national final in July, where they will face a judging panel of industry experts.
As well as the cash prize, the winner will drive away with a Toyota PROACE van or Hilux pick-up, as well as the coveted title of Britain’s Top Tradesperson.
The award is given by Screwfix to those who can prove they excel in their trade whether by starting their own company, keeping their skill-set up to date or by keeping active on social media to really engage with customers. John Mewett, Screwfix marketing director, said: “We speak to tradespeople each and every day and they take great pride in the work that they do in keeping our homes warm, safe and dry, and our businesses in operational order - they truly are the backbone of the nation.”
Entries are open until June 5, with the regional final later that month. Entries can be submitted at any Screwfix store or online at screwfix.com/btt where there are also further details about the competition.
