Shelters set for facelift

A PROGRAMME to overhaul bus shelters throughout has seen some being moved temporarily.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Partnership for Transport said:"SPT and North Lanarkshire Council are working on a joint project to replace and upgrade 42 bus shelters. We aim to have the work completed by the middle of December.

"This is year two of SPT's programme to improve bus infrastructure across west central Scotland. At some sites groundwork to provide new bases is necessary."

Sites are: Cumbernauld - Balloch Road opp Ben More Drive; Balloch Road after Cairntoul Court; Balloch Road before Langdales Avenue; Balloch Road opposite Langdales Avenue; Condorrat Ring Road before North Road; North Road opposite St Maurices Sec School; Westfield Road after Deerdykes Roundabout; Stirling Road after Blairlinn Road; Stirling Road before Blairlinn Roundabout; Balloch Road before Cairntoul Court; Balloch Road opposite Cairntoul Court (two stops); Balloch Road after Ben More Drive.

Kilsyth: Manse Road opposite South Barrwood Road; Balmalloch Road before Corrie Road; Northfield Road; Glasgow Road at Garrell Vale Community Centre; Parkfoot Street after Main Street.
