So much summer fun in the sun

The event, which was organised by North Lanarkshire Council’s play services, was attended by kids of all ages and their families, who were thrilled with the activities on offer.

And with the scorching temperatures, many of the youngsters were able to enjoy most of the outdoor activities.

Briadan and Jill Thomson, both 11, made the most of the event by playing a giant game of connect four while Anna Flannigan and Heather Cameron, both six, got to grips with building blocks.

Youngster Eve Young (4) got to try out some fun activities, with her dad Gordon there to give her a helping hand.

A soft play area proved popular with tots as mum Elaine Reilly found out when she took along 14 months old son Jack.

And youngsters Reece Robertson (4) and Charlie Hastie (18 months) enjoyed taking in the play area.

The next summer funday will take place on Wednesday, August 14 in Kilsyth offering fun and exciting activities for children up to the age of 14.

There will be lots to do and see at the free event in Burngreen Park such as mobile playgrounds, parachute games, giant bubble making, traditional games, circus skills and much more.

The event runs from noon to 3.30pm.

Parents or carers must be in attendance at all times if the child requires individual or specialised assistance. Children under eight years of age should be accompanied by a parent/carer at all times.
