St Mary’s launch travel plan

Pupils at a Cumbernauld primary school officially launched a travel plan last week.

The plan encourages children at St Mary’s Primary in Seafar to think about the safe alternative ways they can travel to school including walking and cycling.

A special assembly was held on Friday, October 25, to launch a school travel plan leaflet.

Classes performed songs, poems, raps, short sketches and scientific experiments to demonstrate their knowledge of road safety.

Prizes were awarded to pupils who designed posters which appeared in the school travel plan leaflet.

The prizes were awarded by Councillors Goldie and Graham.

Overall first prize was awarded to a very delighted Katie O’Brienin, of Primary 3.
