Store staff cheque out for kids’ charity

STAFF at B&Q Cumbernauld downed the orange aprons for a day of fun earlier this year to help raise cash for Yorkhill.

The store banded together to raise £680 for the charity after a number of workers’ children had been cared for in the hospital.

HR manager Beryl Dawson said: “Several members of staff have children who have been in Yorkhill, so we thought it would be the right charity to raise money for. It’s close to our hearts.

“Big thanks go to our all our staff, customers, and our manager Mandy McCready, for their support.”

David Welch, fundraising, marketing and communications manager at Yorkhill, said: “Yorkhill Children’s Foundation is extremely grateful for the support of B&Q Cumbernauld. We especially thank Beryl and the staff in the store for all their hard work and effort undertaken to raise such a substantial amount of money, which will go a long way to helping children requiring treatment and care at Yorkhill Hospital and related services.”
