THIS Friday’s entertainment at the Twa Corbies comes courtesy of Sunburst.

Described by Corbies music promoter as “a mini local super-group”, this power blues/rock outfit from Glasgow features Jim Keilt on guitar/vocals and Jim Carr on bass/vocals. Such is the band’s popularity they have a year’s worth of gigs booked!

Jim Kielt is a veteran of big music festivals all over the UK, most famously the Reading festival where he was guitarist for John Otway. Cumbernauld music fans will remember Jim from his numerous guest appearances at the Cumbernauld jam sessions which were held in the Twa Corbies. Both Jims have also performed to appreciative Corbies crowds with various other bands.

Expect top quality guitar work from the past 40 years as Sunburst cover hits by Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Dire Straits, Gary Mooore, Santana, Wishbone Ash, Neil Young and many more. Doors open as usual at 8pm and the door charge is £3. As always these performances are popular so it is recommended to arrive early.

Youtube viewers can see videos of past performances by Sunburst by checking out user JimHalo’s channel. Videos include performances of Jethro Tull’s Aqualung, The Letter by the Box Tops, Tales of Brave Ulysses by Cream, Hands Up by Rory Gallagher and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama.
