Organised as a free event, it is aimed at bringing together people from across East Renfrewshire who enjoy a good trek.

The organisers would love to see more older people going along to the Christmas walk and discover the benefits of joining a walking group for themselves.

On their return all of the participants can partake of a hot drink, have a scone or a mince pie while enjoying some carol singing which will be led by the Uke Players from Neilston.

Walkers are advised to wear suitable, warm clothing and walking boots and, remember to bring binoculars to better see the wildlife.

“It’s ideal for people of all ages and fitness levels who want to be more active.”

Registration for each walk will take place at the Gazebo at the main entrance to Rouken Glen Park from 9.30am on Wednesday 9 December. All walks start at 10am.
