Delegates who backed Leave spoke about the dictators of Europe controlling the economy and the lack of democracy with unelected people making decisions.

They pointed at no jobs or housing for our youth, with Zero Hour Contracts on the rise, and what hope and prospects are being given to the future generation.

They were adament that control of trade union rights should be taken back as Europe has too much control over food production and fisheries which has impacts people lives and jobs and trade deals are still being done like TTIP {Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership} and CETA {Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement} which the UK will have no control over.

The one thing they could agree on was that mixed messages from politicians means no one actually knows the full impact of the UK’s future in or out on the UK.

The European debate will continue at NLTUC’s next meeting tomorrow (Thursday) in the Community Union Building, Hamilton Road, Motherwell at 6.30pm.
