Traffic calming demand grows

Acting on a query from a constituent, local MSP Jamie Hepburn recently conducted a survey in the area and 97 per cent of respondents said they had safety concerns about this road.

Also, 78 per cent shared concerns about speeding and said they wanted to see greater traffic calming measure introduced.

Mr Hepburn has sent his findings to North Lanarkshire Council and requested that they act to reduce speeding.

He commented: “The results of my survey make it clear that there are real concerns about the safety of this road as well as support for some form of traffic calming measures to address the issues there.
