Trio is outstanding in his field!

Two and a half-year-old Trio is a working Labrador who is trained by Kilsyth man Joe McLure for field trial competitions.

The talented dog was named Field Trial Champion 2012 for Scotland at a competition in Perth on Saturday, October 13.

The competitions test dog on their ability to successfully retrieve game on the sound of a gun shot.

Trio has also qualified to take part in the British Retriever Championships which will take place near Nairn next month.

The dog is one of three that Joe, who is a panel judge with the Kennel Club and gives demonstrations at home and tution, has.

He also works with bitches Piper and Roxy, and Roxy recently had a litter of pups.

Joe would like to thank local farmers Archie McGregor, Andrew Duncan and Alec Mair for use of their ground for training.
