Two injured during three vehicle collision on motorway

TRAFFIC came to a standstill following a three-vehicle smash on the M80 this morning.

Police responded to the incident which happened on the motorway between junctions five Auchenkilns and six Old Inns in Cumbernauld.

The road was closed northbound after the crash which took place at around 7.10am, and motorists travelling in the area were told to expect delays.

The Scottish Ambulance Service say two people were taken to Wishaw General for treatment including a man who was suffering from chest pains.
