On Poppy Saturday, the day before Remembrance Sunday, around 10,000 volunteers took to the streets with their poppy tins for the nationwide street collection that takes place across the UK.

The Poppyscotland volunteers - which included everyone from young cadets, servicemen, women and their families, decorated veterans and dedicated members of the public - were out in force in town and city centres across Scotland.

Gordon Michie, Head of Fundraising at Poppyscotland, said: “We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the thousands of volunteers who have braved the elements to collect for the Scottish Poppy Appeal.

“Our 10,000 volunteers have been out collecting throughout the Poppy Appeal - come rain or shine - and today is the culmination of our major fundraising push for the appeal.

“Thanks to the generous Scottish public, we can continue to provide life-changing support to our Armed Forces community in Scotland - who need our help more than ever before.”
