We’re climbing Ben Nevis in memory of mum

A HEARTBROKEN daughter is set to scale new heights when she climbs Ben Nevis in memory of her mum, who sadly passed away five years ago.

Amanda Love (34) will join her fiancé Paul Sweeney (34), from Cumbernauld Village, to take on the tourist trail at Ben Nevis on October 20.

It will be the first time the pair have ever taken part in a challenge of this magnitude but it will be a lasting legacy for Amanda to remember her mum Linda.

Linda sadly passed away in her holiday home in Bulgaria after she developed a blood clot in her lungs.

She was approaching her 50th birthday, and there was no signs that something was wrong right up until she died.

Amanda said: “I came up with the idea to do this because my mum passed away in Bulgaria so suddenly and I wanted to raise awareness of this problem.

“She was my best friend. She was so kind-hearted and helped everyone. She was well-known and a lot of people in Cumbernauld will remember my mum.”
