Last Monday, August 5, Cumbernauld House Trust met to discuss the latest developments in their ongoing project to transform the former Cumbernauld Primary School into a community facility. A potential change of name to better reflect the work of the group was also discussed.

Tonight, Wednesday, August 7, Cumbernauld Village Action for the Community (CVAC) will hold their monthly meeting in the Village Hall at 7.30pm. CVAC work to improve the landscape and overall amenity of Cumbernauld Village and all local residents are welcome to attend the meeting.

On Monday, August 12, the Friends of Cumbernauld House Park will meet in Cumbernauld Theatre at 7pm. Current projects include a new path network, an outdoor gym, new signage, an entrance feature, and a community archaeology project. Recently the group arranged for construction of a new parking area in Castle Way as well as landscape work on a number of trees throughout the park to improve visibility and tree health.

Tuesday, August 13, sees the restart of Cumbernauld Community Forum’s monthly meetings following the summer break. This meeting takes place in Cumbernauld New Town Hall at 7pm with a presentation from Councillor Allan Graham on the work of Campsies Centre Cumbernauld Limited.
