Woman lashed out in Kilsyth supermarket

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested following two separate incidents within hours of each other at Kilsyth Co-op .

The first incident took place at 1.05pm on Monday February 27 where the woman allegedly stole goods from the shop.

Police were then called, following the incident and enquiries continued to trace the shoplifter.

However, the woman returned to the premises at 8.30pm and began shopping as normal - before she was asked to return the items to the shelves by staff.

The woman became verbally abusive and allegedly kicked a member of staff.

Police were contacted and the woman continued to shout and swear.She was arrested for shoplifting, assault and behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.

She was taken into custody and was scheduled to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court.
