Women gather for global day

WOMEN of the world will be celebrating International Women’s Day on Sunday (March 6) and Cumbernauld Theatre is the place to be for anyone wishing to join in the revels.

These will actually kick off on Saturday with a play by Cumbernauld Theatre Company - A Woman Alone, by Italian dramatists Dario Fo and Franca Rame.

And on the big day itself, the Studio Arts Forum will be hosting special taster events such as tai chi, Djembe drumming, singing and drama workshops at the popular venue - but it doesn’t end there. There will also be talks on writers, arts and current affairs as well as a wealth of raffles, stalls and food.

Places have been made available on all these taster sessions but these are limited and must be booked beforehand.

Forms are now available at the Box Office.

A tie-in art exhibition is also being held in the theatre bar.

The event has been funded by a £2,400 grant from various community funding bodies.
