Worries over danger dog attacks

CONCERN is growing over dangerous dogs that have attacked pets in Abronhill.

In two incidents small dogs fell prey to dangerous Staffordshire Bull Terrier dogs as they roamed the Whitelees area unsupervised.

Last week we flagged up details of one incident which saw a dog needing urgent treatment from a vet after the beast did its worst – while its horrified female owner tried to pull her pet away

It now emerges that police are looking into an earlier incident in Whitelees Road which saw another woman looking on in terror after her tiny Llaso Apso dog was pounced upon by another Staffordshire.

Had it not been for the intervention of a courageous passer-by, the attack could have been fatal.

It now emerges that police have been looking into both incidents which have also fallen under the scrutiny of the Scottish SPCA – and the animal charity stressed that any dog owners allowing their animals to cause injury will be severely dealt with.
