Young stars steal the show
in Kildrum Cinderella

KilDRUM Primary School performed Cinderella as this year’s Christmas show.

Every child in the school was involved in the production. Senior pupils took the main roles, with Olivia Sheppard (P7) as Cinderella, Ben Smith (P6) as Buttons, Adam King (P7) as Prince Charming, Megan McKay (P7) as Grizelda, the wicked stepmother, Lennon McCombie (P6) and Brandon Smith (P7) as the ugly sisters, Jay Roberts (P6) and Samantha Black (P6) as the prince’s servants. The narrators were Ryan Duffy and Ryan McGughan of P7, and Bethany Connaughan and Hannah Johnston from P6.

Headteacher Myra Lindsay said: “Organising the show was a joint effort by the staff team, with the costumes all done by our support staff. It was a big success, with every child doing their part.”

The Primary 1s were dwarves, P2 were penguins, P3 were leprechauns, P4 were Gangnam Dancers and P5 were street urchins. The older pupils also performed as dancers in addition to playing the speaking parts.

Mrs Lindsay added: “I’d also like to thank Trudi Borland for training our puppeteers and Lt Joanna Moir of the Salvation Army for supplying the puppets.”

The show raised £1300. Some of this money was used to bring M+M Productions to the school to perform Robin Hood, while the rest has been put into the library refurbishment fund.
