Palacerigg plans are taking shape after cash boost joy

For not only were volunteers handed £1000 last month by Cumbernauld Community Anchor Network for a new donkey shelter, a key piece of paperwork is now in the hands of the park's former owners North Lanarkshire Council.

A Community Asset Transfer Request will aim to see the Palacerigg Community Trust lease the former visitor centre, its surrounding plot, two long houses, a barn and the adjoining fields.

And if they are successful the project will once again restore a facility which North Lanarkshire Council said it could no longer afford to pay for.A spokesperson explained: " This is to provide an accessible area for community groups and events encouraging development of resilient community groups with ties to local people in partnership working.”
