Cup crackers in Scottish Junior Cup draw

The draw has been made for the first round of the Scottish Junior Cup, the blue riband of the junior game.

While many teams have received byes there are a number of cup crackers, none more so than in Angus where Montrose Roselea will take on Forfar Albion in a derby clash.

Another derby takes place in Lanarkshire where Bellshill Athletic play host to Wishaw Juniors.

Bellshill’s local rivals Thorniewood United have a tough test away to East Superleague side Bonnyrigg Rose while Kilsyth Rangers are also away, at Burghead Thistle.

Camelon have been drawn away to Irvine Vics and Broughty Athletic also head to Ayshire to take on Cumnock.

Tayport have been handed an away tie at Lochee Harp while another Fife side, Newburgh, have a home tie with Kilbirnie.

Neilston Juniors are at home to Dufftown.

Sides receiving byes include Pollok, Cumbernauld United, Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, Rossvale, Carluke Rovers, Lesmahagow, Lanark United, Forth Wanderers, Falkirk Juniors, Dunipace, Linlithgow Rose, Bo’ness United, Arbroath Vics, Carnoustie Panmure, Brechin Vics, Forfar West End, Kirrie Thistle, Kennoway Star Hearts, Glenrothes, Thornton Hibs, St Andrews United, Kirkcaldy YM and Dundonald Bluebell.

Ties are due to be played on Saturday, September 26.
