Lost weekend as local football sides go down

IT was a weekend to forget for the senior and Junior football clubs of Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.

Clyde went down 2-0 at home to Queen’s Park with both goals coming sickeningly in the final 10 minutes.

On the balance of play, The Spiders probably deserved to take all three points, and the result leaves The Bully Wee mid-table on seven points.

Cumbernauld United surrendered a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to a Thorniewood team that played for 87 minutes with 10 men.

The result leaves the Guy’s Meadow side second bottom of the Super League First, with only one win from five.

Kilsyth Rangers missed a chance to go joint top of the same table with a disappointing 4-3 defeat to Renfrew at Duncansfield.

The run of good fortune which has seen them win their last two games despite below par performances shows signs of having come to an end.
