ABRONHILL Bowling Club Junior Section held their annual triples tournament on Saturday, July 16 with eight clubs from the surrounding area being represented, along with our own juniors.
The weather, initially, was wet and miserable and there were thoughts that the game would need to be abandoned – but, after patiently sitting around for an hour, the sun came out and shone for the rest of the day.
It was a wonderful day – not only was the standard of bowling from all of the juniors outstanding, but they were thoroughly enjoying themselves as well.
After a breathtaking final against Campsie, Abronhill won, retaining the trophy. Doune Castle and Dunblane were the beaten semi-finalists.
Thanks must go to those who organised the tournament and especially to those who worked so hard keeping the youngsters (and not so young) supplied with burgers, juice, tea and cakes.
