Young boxers in action at Wishaw

Kilsyth Golden Gloves boxer James McKenzie faced Jack Kennedy of Broadwood Boxing Club in the 66 kilo category, with James emerging as winner with a closely fought points decision.

And the bout bodes well for a return fight between the two local rivals when Kilsyth Golden Gloves Boxing Club holds its annaul show in April.

The event takes place in Kilsyth Academy on Saturday, April 5, and will feature 13 fights with ten boxers from Kilsyth Golden Gloves taking part and three from Broadwood Boxing Club.

Three youngsters from the Kilsyth club will be in action this weekend when they take part in the Scottish Youth Championships.

And another three of the club’s boxers will feature in the Scottish Senior Championships next weekend.
