Celtic and Rangers legends at Cumbernauld charity match

AN OLD Firm legends charity match will take place at Broadwood Stadium, Cumbernauld, this Friday, January 11, with a top line up that few football fans would want to miss.

Celtic will be represented by Jimmy Bone, Frank McGarvey and Chic Charnley and Andy Goram, Charlie Miller and Dougie Bell will be among those representing rivals Rangers at the match.

More than 300 soccer starlets from the area’s boys clubs will be among the spectators and mascots. There will pre-match and half time entertainment thrown in as well as a piper.

This is the second year in a row that the event has taken place after its Airdrie-based organisers deemed it a huge success.

Proceeds will be donated to Yorkhill Childrens Foundation, Alzheimers Scotland and an anti-bigotry organisation which harnesses the power of social networking to stamp out sectarianism.

The gates open at 6.30pm for a 7.45pm kick-off.

Tickets priced £6/£3 are available at at the gate.
