Clyde finish season on a high at Broadwood

Scott Ferguson returned to the starting eleven, and manager Barry Ferguson also awarded Under 20s midfielder Conor Lynass his first team debut.

The first chance for Clyde came to Scott Durie, but the first goal came after 34 minutes when Scott Ferguson had a cross only partially cleared. Steven McDougall was in just the right place to send the ball into the net.

Queen’s had a quiet half, rarely troubling the Clyde defence, with most of the action happening at the other end of the pitch.
Ferguson continued to cause problems for the visitors with another close effort just before half time.

The second half continued to show a lack of goal attempts but in 70 minutes the Bully Wee got their second. Again Ferguson was involved, along with McDougall who sent a cross into the box for Brian McQueen to head past Willie Muir.

Later in the half, Alan Martin set up a good chance for Ciaran McElroy to at least grab a consolation for Ciaran McElroy to at least grab a consolation goal, but the ball hit the woodwork.

With full points from this fixture, the Bully Wee claimed sixth place in the league table in their first season with Barry Ferguson at the helm.

This final match also marked an important milestone for defender Scott Durie, as he achieved the distinction of having played in every single competitive match of the season, including cup games. In addition to starting every match, Scott was never substitued in the entire season - an unrivalled accomplishment in the last 25 years - at least.
