Conor is just champion!

TALENTED young judo player Conor Murphy is a Scottish champion.

All the hard work paid off for Seafar lad Conor (13), as he produced a flawless performance at the national junior championships at Meadowbank on September 15 by beating all of his opponents with ippon (full points).

Delighted coach Sandy Kirk said: “Conor is a good lad and he has done well, I’m really pleased with him.

“He worked hard in the leadup to this tournament and has had a hard time of it on previous occasions, getting beaten up a little.

“But now he’s really coming into his own.”

Conor will now progress onto competing in home international events as he strives to climb the rankings.

But he isn’t the only member of his family who loves judo - little sister Amy recently featured in our pages for getting a black belt.

Tryst Judo Club trains at the Tryst Sports Centre on Tuesdays and in Saturdays sessions are in the nearby Link CE Centre.
