Cooler weather helps improve fishing

The much cooler weather last week improved the fishing considerably at Woodburn Fishery with Stewart Campbell topping the list with a tremendous brown trout of 14lbs that was safely returned.

Stewart received a free permit to celebrate his great fish.

The top taking flies last week included the Yellow Dancer, Black Buzzer, Olive Zonker, Damsel and the Black and Gold Buzzer.

Sid Hunter from Glasgow had a cracking fish of 8lbs 3oz, Mr Kay of Glasgow two for 4lbs 7oz, Mr Paterson from Milton of Campsie one for 3lbs, Mr Bennett of Leeds two weighing 5lbs 50z – best 4lbs, and Jason Coombes from Milton of Campsie took three for 12lbs – biggest 6lbs.

Mr Wright from Kilsyth had one at 2lbs 2oz, Pat Harte of Bishopbriggs took three for 6lbs, Mr Cooper from Kirkintilloch had two for 5lbs 8oz, Mr Anderson took eight on catch and release.

George Campbell from Kirkintilloch had two for 3lbs, Mr Sharp of Bannockburn had a fine rainbow weighing 6lbs 13oz and Mr Koziel and son from East Kilbride shared five for 9lbs 90z – best 3lbs 5oz.
