Countbacks required in Winter League

ON Saturday, March 10 the ‘hotly’ contested Winter League at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club could not have been closer as countbacks were required to settle the outcome of the two section winners and runner up spots.

Due to the rivalry within the four sections, this year’s tournament has been a great success and the harmony between new and existing members is encouraging as the new season kicks off in two weeks.

The Winter League final takes place this Saturday, March 17, at 9.30am.

Taking part are the section winners and runner ups.

Section 1 – John Love 219, Colin McKechnie 219. Section 2 – Drew Jarvis 219, Ian Carstairs 219. Section 3 – Stephen Whyte 211, Ian Currie 210. Section 4 – Dean Clelland 218, James Barrons 209.

The Annual Burns Supper was held on Friday, March 9. Club captain John Fitzsimmons welcomed guests from Stirling Road Bowing Club, The Miners’ Bowing Club and the Parkfoot Social Club. John also gave a vote of thanks to the artistes who made it a grand evening.
