Cumbernauld bowlers in inter-club league action

ALL the club teams were in action this week-end in the Inter Club League competitions.

After defeating Glasgow two weeks ago the Senior mens team were up against Galleon the new league leaders last weekend. Again they put up a very impressive display wining the match in style by 75 points to 63. This weekend saw the Seniors take on Ayr at the stadium. They attacked from the start and took the lead, a position they never relinquished, running out emphatic winners by 80 points to 54. Lets hope their winning streak continues for the remaining few league matches.

Cumbernauld skips: T. Anderson lost 12-20; T. Turnbull won 31-4; J. B. Wilson lost 14-20; J. McConnochie won 20-10.

The Gents’ team also had a very good win beating Fintry at the stadium (details next week).

This left the ladies to complete a hat-trick of wins. Unfortunately they were unable to do so. Confidence was quite high after their success against Alloa on their last outing, but playing away at Fintry proved a more difficult task with only one team winning, three losing and going down by 94 points to 68.

Cumbernauld skips: M. Wightman won 23-16; A. Cairnie lost 12-33; L. Fleming lost 14-24; J. Miller lost 18-21.

Next weekend sees the last league match for the ladies when they play Allander at the stadium. A win would help them to consolidate their third place.

Good luck to all the teams.
