Aiden Duggen (14) also fought well for the club, only losing on points in his match in the 44 kilos category, but the youngster’s skill was recognised as the club have awarded him with a shield for the most improved boxer of the club.

The boys were given a few words of advice from Andrew Tam (17) and Andrew Willox (18) who have successfully competed in the same competition in previous years.

Their trainers Drew Docherty, who is Calum’s dad, and Davie Maguire also played a big part in preparing for the competition.

The club also want to thank Howden Joinery in Wardpark for their recent donation which will go along way to helping all the boxers at the club with their future successes.
