Cumbernauld Indoor Bowling Club

THE Cumbernauld Indoor Bowling Club is currently involved in the Glasgow and District Team Championships where each club play two games at home and two away.

This week the club’s opponents were Clydebank. Skips J. McMillan and L. Fleming playing at the stadium had good wins against their opponents whilst the away teams had mixed fortunes with skip J. Miller halving her game and skip R. McIntyre unfortunately losing, resulting in a win for Cumbernauld winning two and half to 1 and half.

The gents also won both of their matches at the stadium.

Last week the ladies completed one of their internal competitions when, in the triples final, the team of L. Fleming, A. Lloyd, P. Casey defeated R. McIntyre, N. McEwan, E. Rodgers.

On Sunday the Club played host to Durham Indoor Bowling Club for the second year running. Although deemed a friendly all the players were out to win, in a friendly way of course.

Until the last quarter of the match the teams were evenly matched on the same score.

Unfortunately Cumbernauld seemed to tire and Durham ran out worthy winners.

However the after game refreshments and the raffle soon cheered everyone up and all agreed it had been a very good day and were looking forward to next year.
