Cumbernauld trio International Children’s Games

Three Cumbernauld youngsters are thrilled to be part of the North Lanarkshire contingent taking part in the International Children’s Games in the Netherlands.

Robyn Morrison and Tegan Kerr are in the swimming team while Beth Tobin is in the athletics squad – with 18 taking part from across the area altogether.

The ICG’s is an International Olympic Committee-sanctioned annual event where children between the ages of 12 and 15 from cities and regions around the world participate in a variety of sports and cultural activities.

This year’s event is in picturesque Alkmaar in the Netherlands – famous for its cheeses – and a memorable trip is guaranteed. 2015 the ICG’s will be held in Alkmaar, Netherlands.

Meanwhile Lanarkshire has a close association with the ICG’s, as it hosted the event in 2011.

Jim Moffat, Head of Delegation, said: “The Games in Holland present a magnificent opportunity and I am over the moon that 18 of North Lanarkshire’s youngsters have been given the chance to compete in the event.”
