David pockets Scottish title

THE Scottish Under-23 Pool Championships were held recently in Cumbernauld’s Red Triangle Snooker Club, with David Farrell named the champion.

David, 19, from Moodiesburn, says clinching his first tournament win left him feeling a great sense of relief.

“I’ve been playing pool since I was 13 and competing since I was 15,” he said. “And a couple of years ago I lost the final of the Under 21s. So to finally have a title and to have made a mark on the game is a really good feeling.”

David attends Strathclyde University where he is studying to become a physics teacher. “You don’t have to be that smart to play pool, but a knowledge of physics helps with working out the angles,” he said.

David also wanted to thank Billy Stirling of the Red Triangle for his support.
