Over the years, the Scottish lower leagues have been a breeding ground for numerous young talent.
Here we look at 19 promising youngsters currently developing in the Scottish Championship, League One and League Two.
5. Anton Dowds
Plucked by manager Darren Young during pre-season from Heriot Watt. The striker, according to the manager, "stuck out like a sore thumb" during his trial period. Has gone on to become the Fife club's lead striker this campaign.
Young midfielder given his chance by East Fife after a really impressive spell on trial during pre-season. Has gradually been given more game time in recent months and will be aiming to make a starting jersey his next season.
Young forward on loan from Celtic at Alloa. Yet to get off the mark for The Wasps, but performances at Celtic and Dumbarton have proved he has a high potential rate and is definitely one for the future.
