Annan’s victory kept their promotion play-off hopes firmly on track, but left Clyde’s chances of going up, while not impossible, extremely difficult.

It was a wet windy miserable day which had some effect on the crowd but the Clyde faithful turned out in force to support their team knowing that a victory would keep their team firmly on the fringe of the play-offs.

But the only goal came for the home side in the 74th minute.

A Darren Ramsay corner was flicked on by the head of Raffi Krissian to the back post where Max Wright connected to slam the ball into the roof of the net from five yards. It was the moment that decided the outcome of the game.

Early on it was all Annan and David McKenna tested Connor Quinn who then made an important save from a Peter Weatherson header.

Quinn again came to Clyde’s rescue to deny Ramsay, but Clyde eventually started to show the attacking side of their game.

Peter McDonald’s well struck shot forced a superb save from Blair Currie and McDonald following up cracked the post.

Currie then did well to deny Scott Ferguson.

After the break Annan pushed forward and Weatherson somehow scooped the ball over from five yards following a corner.

At the other end Marc McKenzie went close when he forced a corner following a penetrating run to the heart of the Annan defence.

After Annan bropke the deadlock Clyde almost replied immediately when McKenzie burst through, forcing Currie into a save and from the rebound Raffi Krissian chested the ball out for a corner.
