Crocked Clyde star Scott Ferguson has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
The 21-year-old wide midfielder is undergoing his rehabilitation after undergoing surgery on his injured cruciate ligament earlier in the month.
Ferguson, an impressive performer for the Bully Wee this season, ruptured his anterior cruciate against East Fife in February and required surgery on his knee, ruling him out for the rest of this season and well into next.
However the club immediately vowed to stand by him and press ahead with reaching agreement on a new contrcat to allow him to concentrate on his recuperation free from worry.
Boss Barry Ferguson told the club website: “We were planning this before Scott picked up his injury, as I was happy with his development this season.
“He’s a big player for us and we are guiding him carefully through his rehab. I’m sure he will come back stronger from this setback.”
Ferguson made his Clyde debut in 2013 and is already approaching 100 appearances for the club.
Earlier this month the manager himself agreed a contract extension commiting himself to the club until 2019.
