Bully Wee book play-off place
Clyde secured a promotion play-off spot with a convincing 4-0 victory over Albion Rovers at Broadwood on Saturday.
Bully Wee boss Jim Duffy boss gave Gordon Young his first start for the club but otherwise the team was unchanged from that which beat Montrose last week.
Rovers got off to a good start, and after Pat Walker hit the post, they had the ball in the net but the goal was chalked off for offside .
Clyde took the lead in the 24th minute, with the counter helping to settle the nerves of everyone inside Broadwood.
A good run and cross by Scott Ferguson gave Stef McCluskey an easy chance to score at the back post and the striker made no mistake.
Early in the second half, Michael Daly grabbed the all-important second goal with a fine header from a McCluskey cross.
A third goal just after the hour mark put The Bully Wee in complete command of the match. McCluskey found space on the right and his cross found its way to John Sweeney, who turned and prodded the ball into the net from close range.
Albion almost pulled one back, but Liam Cusack’s effort missed the target.
However, Clyde substitute Kevin Watt made the scoreline more emphatic in the last minute of the game when he fired in an effort from the edge of the box.
Clyde’s Stef McCluskey was stretchered from the pitch with a neck injury during the game . However, following hospital checks he was able to return home and his condition will be assessed further during the week.
