The Bully Wee, who lost to Spartans last year, went down 2-0 to Highland League side Formartine United in their second round tie.

Graeme Rodger put the home side ahead in 33 minutes and Neil Gauld sealed Clyde’s fate with a second in the last minute.

The defeat increases the pressure on Barry Ferguson’s side, currently seventh in League 2, to justify their position as pre-season title favourites.

However one Broadwood side will be in Monday’s third round round draw after Cumbernauld Colts disposed of junior cracks Auchinleck Talbot.

Jamie Broadfoot gave the Lowland League side, playing in their first ever Scottish Cup campaign, the lead after 65 minutes.

And victory was confirmed when Blair Munn made it 2-0 in the 90th minute.
