Clyde lose up north

Clyde travelled north on Saturday to face Elgin City .

But the Broadwood outfit came away from Borough Briggs empty handed as the home side scored the only goal of the game to claim the three points.

New Bully Wee boss brought in Ryan Frances and Michael Daly to replace Brian McQueen and Scott McManus.

Clyde had several chances in the opening minutes, Kevin Watt missing with a close-range header, and a John Sweeney header being pushed away by Michael Fraser.

Elgin came back into the match and took the lead in the 28th minute when Craig Gunn and met a cross from the left to fire the ball home.

The home side missed a chance to increase their lead justs before the interval.

In the second half Clyde pushed to get the equaliser, Sweeney’s low shot being pushed away by City keeper Fraser, and substitute Stuart McColm’s cross hitting the top of the bar.

Clyde keeper Barclay did well to block Craig Gunn’s shot as the home side saw out a deserved victory to take full points.
