Clyde take points – but at a cost

CLYDE won their season opener, but the team now faces a challenge with an already-thin squad having to cope with four injured players.

Despite triumphing 1-0 at home over Berwick Rangers in the league opener, two Clyde players had to be taken to hospital.

Kevin Watt suffered a sprained ankle during warm-up while Stefan McCluskey was stretchered off with ankle ligament damage after taking a misjudged tackle from Dean Hoskins.

David Marsh and Kieran McDonald both had to be substituted as well. Marsh is suffering from bruised bones in his heel and McDonald has problems with his thigh. It will be several weeks until all players have recovered.

“While this came earlier than I would have hoped I told the players before the season that they would have to be prepared,” said Clyde boss Jim Duffy.
