The 22-year-old, who was with Elgin City last season, has signed a contract with Clyde for 2016-17, much to the delight of the Bully Wee boss.

The former Livingston, Berwick Rangers and St Johnstone player is the sixth new face acquired by Clyde since the season ended, joining former Annan midfielder Matty Flynn and defender Martin McNiff, ex-Stirling Albion midfielder Phil Johnston and defenders Jordan Lowdon and Ewan McNeill, from Arbroath and Berwick Rangers respectively.

Ferguson admitted he had wasted no time once he found out there was a chance of getting Easton.

He told the club website: “I started working on the deal straight away and we have worked extremely hard to get him.

“When we met initially, he was so keen to do something with us and that was the thing that really got me - he wanted to play for me and for Clyde.

“He’s got undoubted quality and he is a link between the midfield and forwards, something that we know we have been missing. He’ll fit perfectly into the way we’re going to play next season, with a younger team and lots of energy all over the pitch.

“We’ll have a certain style that’s different to what we have had before and Dylan is ideal to complement that.”

Clyde have also agreed new deals for next season with four more existing players - defender and last season’s player of the year Chris Smith, midfielders Scott McLaughlin and JP McGovern and forward Jamie Watson.
