Goals galore in Junior Cup ties

THE drama of the Scottish Junior Cup has created many a treasured memory for supporters, and this weekend’s ties were no different.

Cumbernauld United faced an unenviable trip to Bellsdale Park to face Beith, currently sitting fourth in the top tier of Junior football.

The unbelievable game that resulted saw the Guy’s Meadow side fall two behind after 10 minutes, only to dramatically fight back to lead 5-3 with six minutes remaining.

The Cabes managed to level the score before full-time, and their management team celebrated on the sidelines as though they had won the cup.

A replay will be needed to separate the two.

Kilsyth Rangers booked their place in the third round with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Bridge of Don Thistle.

The long journey to Duncansfield may have contributed to the Aberdeen sides downfall, but at no point did they ever look likely to give Kilsyth a game.

Clyde had the weekend off as scheduled opponents Alloa had a Scottish Cup replay to see to.
