East Fife taking it a game at the time

It may be the oldest cliché in the book, but East Fife are simply taking things one game at a time.

East Fife: Hart, Dunsmore, Higgins, Dunlop, Denholm, Swanson, Watt, Brown, Newton, Fenton, McKinnon.

Subs: Adams, McConville, Watson, Slattery, Wallace, Smith, Agnew, Davidson, Spence.

Clyde: Mitchell, McNiff, Rumsby, Otoo, Cunningham, Cuddihy, Lamont, Bain, Howie, McGlinchey, Jack.

Subs: Wilson, Love, Butterworth, Ritchie-Hosler, Robertson, Munro, Jamieson, Thomson, Nicoll.

The home side waste absolutely no time in taking the lead. Lovely delivery from Chris Higgins as he hangs the ball up along the face of goal. First in with the header is Danny Denholm.

What an opening to the game bu Darren Young’s side. Clearly still smarting after Tuesday’s loss at Montrose they’ve raced out the traps.

16: Clyde weather the storm

East Fife have been well on top since the first whistle but, to their credit, Clyde have managed to work their way back into the game. But with David Goodwillie absent in attack they’re looking pretty blunt.

25: Fifers back on top

Some really good performances tonight so far in this Fife side. Liam Watt and Danny Denholm both looking lively. Newton and Fenton also performing well.

30: Chance East Fife

Danny Swanson is attracting the attention of the Clyde defence with a few meaty challenges. He wins a free-kick on the edge of the Clyde box which he takes himself but sends over the bar.

40: Chance East Fife!

Sean Brown races in behind the Clyde defence but his shot is tame and comfortably tipped past.

Out of the blue the visitors are almost level. Ball into the box is met by Craig Howie who heads wide.

Been a really good game this, helped by the early opening goal. Play still going from end to end with the Fifers set to freshen things up. Davidson and Watson coming on.

78: Still on a knifedge

78: East fife have been the better team but with just the one goal advantage things are still in the balance.

84: Chance East Fife!

Best chance of the second half for the Fifers. Free-kick evades the Clyde defence and finds Craig Watson whose acrobatic effort is well held.
