The Bully Wee welcome Stirling Albion to Broadwood needing a win to guarantee a place in the promotion play-offs.

Any other result will leave them sweating on the outcome of fifth-placed Annan Athletic’s match with Queen’s Park.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Hampden pushed Clyde down to fourth and stretched their winless run to five matches.

Those games have yielded just two points - and left manager Barry Ferguson less than impressed, to say the least.

The Clyde boss said: “That wasn’t good enough and it makes my decision easier about players that are going to be staying and not staying.

“I have a number of players signed up on pre-contracts, I think I will have to go out and double that.

“There was just no fight. Five weeks ago we had a chance of winning the league and blew it.

“Now we have a chance of the play-offs, but some of them cannot handle pressure and therefore they cannot play for me. There were demands put on the squad when we were one point behind East Fife and look at things now.”

“We have a chance next weekend but whether those boys want to go on and do it is another thing.

“I can count on one hand the players I can depend on. The others will not be here next season.”

Meanwhile Chris Smith was named Player of the Year at the club’s award evening at Rutherglen Town Hall on Saturday night.
