Juniors suffer as big freeze takes hold

Junior football in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth are came to a standstill on Saturday as the winter weather took its toll on the fixture list.

Kilsyth Rangers’ game at Kirkcaldy fell victim to the freeze-up on Saturday, along with many other Scottish Cup ties. It will go ahead this Saturday, weather permitting.

A frozen pitch caused the postponement of Cumbernauld United’s Scottish third-round tie against Aberdeenshire side Cruden Bay FC.

The game will now be played at Guy’s Meadow this Saturday, November 30. Kick off is at 1.45 p.m.

Of the games that did take place the big result was Bo’ness beating current cup holders and this year’s favourites, Auchinleck Talbot. Also going through were Petershill and Camelon.
