Miserable night for Bully Wee

IT proved to be third time lucky as Clyde and Queen’s Park finally met at Hampden on Tuesday night, but the Bully Wee were to enjoy no rub of the green themselves.

A Scottish Cup replay for the Spiders meant the fixture was originally postponed on November 26, before again being called off last Tuesday due to snow.

However, despite driving wind and rain, the match went ahead, with Queen’s Park recording an important 3-0 win over Clyde to boost their drive for a play-off spot.

The home team took the lead on the 4th minute, as Sean Burns was sent through by a clever pass to slot into the net.

Both sides had chances either side of the break, before Pat Scullion’s was denied an equaliser when his header was well saved by Parry in the Queen’s Park goal on the hour mark.

The Bully Wee were to pay for not taking chances as goals from Craig Smith in the 63rd minute and Michael Daly in the 84th minute wrapped up the result for the home side - a night to forget for Clyde.

The Bully Wee now sit seventh in the table, three points off the play-off spots.
