Murphy is on the spot as United pick up impressive victory

Cumbernauld United’s Scott Murphy was certainly ‘spot on’ in Saturday’s West of Scotland Super League Division 1 game against Neilston.

The midfielder was in brilliant form as he netted and impress four times including three from the penalty spot in a 10-goal thriller.

Murphy was named the man of the match with his best performance of the season but he was far from the only player providing value for money to the spectators.

In total the match featured 10 goals, four penalties, a red card and lots of yellows - all in all a game even the Neilston fans enjoyed despite the scoreline.

United were clearly out to make amends for their poor showing against Ardeer Thistle the previous weekend.

The highlight of the match was the brilliant start United made to the second half.

In the opening 12 minutes of the period the home side dominated the play and scored three times in an amazing show.
