Rudden struck the opener on 65 minutes, just four minutes after replacing Connor Murray, before adding a second in stoppage time.

Clyde had defended resolutely in a scrappy first half and other than a Brian Graham drive well saved by David Wilson, Thistle were restricted to crosses into the box comfortably dealt with by the visitors.

Thistle stepped things up after the interval but were unable to find the breakthrough until the ever dangerous Scott Tiffoney got clear of Jamie Bain and fired across a ball which Rudden bundled over the line.

Clyde pushed Tom Lang up front as they chased an equaliser and one flick set up David Goodwillie who fired just wide.

But the points were sealed in stoppage timer when Rudden controlled Graham's cross before rifling the ball low past Wilson.
