Rangers appoint experienced assistant Hogg

Kilsyth Rangers’ manager Keith Hogg has wasted no time in his first stint in management in bringing in Kevin McBride as his assistant.

Kevin has gained vast experience having played senior football with East Fife, Cowdenbeath, Albion Rovers and latterly with Pollok Juniors and will double up as assistant manager as well as player coach.

Former player Joe Barclay has returned to the club from Ashfield Juniors and he will be joined by former Thorniewood Juniors player J. Crawley, J. Coulter from Petershill, P. McBride from Blantyre Amateurs and N. Prentice from Campsie Black Watch.

Several of last year’s squad have left the club including local favourite and player of the year Franny Kelly who has decided to move on, and has signed for East of Scotland cracks Linlithgow Rose. The club would like to thank Franny for his past contribution and dedication and wish him all the best with his new club.

Also leaving is popular defender Ryan Carr who due to work commitments has relocated to Aberdeen.

Talks are ongoing with several other experienced players and new additions to the squad are expected soon with pre-season training commencing on June 28.

The following pre-season friendly matches being arranged: Saturday, July 19 – Kilsyth Rangers v Shotts Victoria FC; Wednesday, July 23 – TBC v Kilsyth Rangers; Saturday, July 26 – Kilsyth Rangers v Armadale Thistle.
